Mark Lockett brought this gamelan back from Bali, a secular copy of one of the sacred ensembles of Tenganan, in the 1990s after studying traditional music with the undisputed master musician of that village, the late I Nyoman Partha Gunawan. Encouraged by Pak Gunawan this gamelan salunding found its way into experimental music projects in the UK, theatre productions, sound and visual installations, community music groups, and has been widely shared with other gamelan enthusiasts. It has now found its natural home in France amongst the brilliant musicians that make up Ketug Ketug.
